Hiking the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway is a beat away with Maggie Valley just to our West. Our vacation rental home, is situated mid-mountain (at an elevation of about 3600 ) in Haywood County which dotes the highest peaks in Eastern US. Whether you're seeking stillness and solace or an adventure of a lifetime, there is much to do here year-round.

Only a few minutes' drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's "American Pickers"), horseback riding and golfing. Don't forget nearby Lake Junaluska has fishing, canoeing and a beautiful walking path surrounding the lake. Our home is less than a 30-minute drive to Harrah's Cherokee Casino, several golf courses and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and "Polar Express" during the Christmas Holiday).
In about 25 minutes, you could be in downtown Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
The WNC Treehouse vacation rental house is less than a 30-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park and Pisgah National Forest.
Step outside and nature is calling. Bird watching is one of our favorite things to do from the porch while sipping early morning espresso. Strap on your boots and find the locally forged hiking trail access just steps from the door which leads to scenic views and a horse farm just down the way. Ready to take a quick spin? Drive to the Famous Hemp Hill Road for a hike (10min drive) or explore Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm (12min drive).
